Improving Dogs’ Lives: Dog Behaviourist & Trainer

I don’t just love dogs, I am passionate about improving their lives. As a certified dog behaviourist/trainer and pet food nutritionist I wanted to spread the word so I created my TV show Pooches at Play, now in its fifth series on Channel 10.

The success of my TV show led to the addition of my online platform poochesatplay.com where I continue to share my devotion to dogs with training, behaviour and nutrition advice as well as tips for owners who, like me, want the best for their dog.

In addition to Pooches at Play, my latest TV project The Pet Rescuers is currently in production and will air on Australian TV in early 2021.

Animal welfare advocate & conservationist

I began my animal welfare advocacy career in my early 20’s with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) where I developed and fronted national public awareness and behaviour change campaigns. I was a regular guest presenter on Australian Children’s TV including Channel 10’s Cheez TV and Totally Wild and Channel 7’s Saturday Disney.
My drive to make an impact on improving the lives of all animals led me into roles as diverse as TV Presenter, Producer and Writer, as well Public Relations and Marketing, always in organisations with a strong focus on animal welfare and conservation issues. This included Keep Australia Beautiful, Planet Ark, The Orangutan Project and Wildlife Asia. Everywhere I worked I was determined to help spread the word about the need to care for our wildlife and companion animals with compassion and understanding.
My debut conservation documentary, Ecochick Adventures: The Trans Borneo Challenge aired on Channel 9 in August 2015. I wanted to raise awareness of the plight of the Orangutan and decimation of their forest homes through the prolific use of palm oil in many of the products readily available on our supermarket shelves.
This was followed soon after with Pooches at Play, and the upcoming The Pet Rescuers, to help raise awareness of the animal welfare issues that need addressing in our own backyards!

In addition to my Pooches at Play TV show and dog training commitments, I continue my education work in the media and as an MC and speaker at community and industry events including the Dog Lovers Show, the Cat Lovers Show, pet expos, seminars and others throughout the year with my cheeky side-kick ‘Dynamite Darcy’ by my side.

Brand Ambassador / Spokesperson

I am honoured to have been the media spokesperson for many of the high profile organisations I have worked with including WWF, Planet Ark, Keep Australia Beautiful and The Orangutan Project.
I am currently the Ambassador for Second Chance Animal Rescue and the Jetpets Companion Animal Rescue Awards 2020. I also work as a Brand Ambassador with like-minded companies dedicated to improving the lives of people and pets.

As both a certified dog behaviourist / trainer and pet food nutritionist I am excited to announce that my debut book Eat, Play, Love (Your Dog) is available in Australia thanks to Hardie Grant Publishing from 1 June 2020 and in the US and UK later in  2020.
